Any individual applying to Discovery Learning Center must have:

• High school diploma or GED

• US citizen, permanent resident or with work authorization to work in Day Care Centers in McKinney

• Knowledge of safety practices as they relate to infant/toddler/preschool/school age children

• Good written and oral communications skills

• Infant, Child and Adult CPR/First Aid certified at time of hire or achieve certification within 30 days from date of hire

• Employment conditional upon results of the following:

  • Satisfactory criminal background-check for child care centers

  • Satisfactory Drug Screen

Preferred:

• Child Development Associate Degree (CDA) or higher

• Working experience at a childcare facility
